The KYC Analyst – Sanctions is responsible for conducting sanctions, PEP, and adverse media screening across the client lifecycle. This role focuses on alert review, matching, and disposition, ensuring SUNRATE remains compliant with global sanctions regimes and internal risk standards. You will play a critical role in protecting the organisation from sanctions exposure by identifying potential matches, clearing false positives, and escalating true hits.

Shifts Available:

AM Sanctions Shift: 9:30 AM – 6:30 PM MYT
PM Sanctions Shift: 3:00 PM – 12:00 AM (Midnight) MYT

What you’ll be spending your time on:

  • Review, analyse, and disposition sanctions, PEP, and adverse media alerts generated by screening systems.
  • Determine whether alerts represent false positives, true matches, or require escalation.
    Escalate true matches, uncertain cases, or unusual activity to senior compliance personnel.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and audit‑ready sanctions screening records.
    Support remediation activities, data quality checks, and sanctions‑related process improvements.
  • Assist with tuning, testing, and optimisation of sanctions screening tools and workflows.
  • Stay updated on sanctions developments, regulatory changes, and internal policy updates.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve information gaps and ensure timely alert clearance.

For this role you'll also have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Law, or a related discipline.
  • 1–3 years of AML/KYC experience; sanctions screening experience is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with sanctions lists, PEP screening, and AML databases.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to assess risk and escalate appropriately.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Comfort working with global teams across multiple time zones.
  • Experience with fintech, cross‑border payments, or high-growth digital financial institutions is beneficial.
  • Exposure to screening tools, AML systems, or workflow platforms.
  • Ability to interpret corporate documents and understand international business structures.
