The Client Growth and Onboarding Associate plays a critical commercial and client facing role in supporting SUNRATE clients across international markets where the company does not have a local operational presence. Based in Kuala Lumpur, this role supports clients across Asia, Europe, Australia, and the Americas, engaging them virtually across the pre sales and post sales journey to ensure successful onboarding, activation, and long term adoption of SUNRATE solutions.

What you’ll be spending your time on:

  • Support and drive business opportunities during both pre sales and post sales stages by working leads through structured qualification, onboarding readiness, and activation workflows in accordance with internal governance and compliance requirements.
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for prospects and clients from initial engagement through onboarding and activation.
  • ​Own the end to end onboarding journey for business to business clients in countries without local SUNRATE operations.
  • Coordinate onboarding requirements including documentation collection, compliance checks, account setup, and product activation.
  • Ensure clients are successfully onboarded, activated, and confident in managing their cross border payments, foreign exchange, and commercial needs.
  • Translate client requirements into clear onboarding plans and realistic timelines for remote onboarding scenarios.
  • Ensure a smooth, structured handover from Sales to ongoing Client Success teams.
  • Identify growth and upsell opportunities through client conversations, product education, and early usage insights.
  • Partner closely with Marketing, Compliance, Product, and Operations teams to resolve onboarding, activation, or campaign related issues.
  • Manage client engagement across multiple regions, time zones, and regulatory environments.
  • Maintain accurate onboarding records, pipeline trackers, and customer relationship management system updates.
  • Continuously improve onboarding and client engagement processes to support scalability and global coverage.

For this role you'll also have:

  • Proven experience in client growth, onboarding, client success, account management, or similar roles within business to business, financial technology, payments, or software as a service environments.
  • Strong understanding of pre sales and post sales client engagement and compliance driven onboarding processes.
  • Ability to manage both commercial and onboarding responsibilities across multiple international regions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • A structured, detail oriented approach and the ability to perform well in a fast paced global environment.
  • Strong client centric mindset with clear ownership and accountability.
  • Strong command of written and spoken English as a mandatory requirement. Additional language capabilities are an advantage.
  • Experience managing global or remote client portfolios is an advantage.
  • Open to Malaysian citizens and candidates with a valid working permit in Malaysia.
